The parade was predominantly led by children and was enriched by the presence of school bands, dance studios, martial arts dojos, and various community groups. Additionally, emergency services, including fire trucks, ambulances, and police on horses and motorcycles, participated. A highlight for many was the inclusion of dogs in costumes, adding a touch of whimsy to the event.

The dish quickly gained popularity and spread throughout the Southwestern U.S. Anaya's legacy is still honored in Piedras Negras, especially at the Moderno Restaurant.
