Bacon, Brews, and Beats: Easton PA’s Bacon Fest Takes Center Stage!

Easton, Pennsylvania, played host to the 12th PA Bacon Fest, a two-day event celebrating all things bacon. Organized by the Greater Easton Development Partnership, the festival spanned from Centre Square to Third and Northampton streets. With over 140 vendors, attendees indulged in bacon-infused dishes, beverages, and desserts. The event also featured live music across five stages, as well as unique activities like pig races and bacon-eating contests. The Westfields, a returning family to the Lehigh Valley, praised the city's revitalization and the array of events, including Bacon Fest. The weekend was complemented by favorable fall weather, with ample parking and shuttle services for attendees.

Bethlehem’s Rescheduled Halloween Parade Shines Bright on Sunny Day!

Bethlehem's annual Halloween Parade, originally scheduled for October 29th, was postponed to November 5th due to inclement weather. The rescheduled event was blessed with a sunny fall day. Starting at West Broad Street and Ninth Avenue, the parade journeyed through the city, concluding at Main and Spring streets. The parade was predominantly led by children and was enriched by the presence of school bands, dance studios, martial arts dojos, and various community groups. Additionally, emergency services, including fire trucks, ambulances, and police on horses and motorcycles, participated. A highlight for many was the inclusion of dogs in costumes, adding a touch of whimsy to the event.

National Nachos Day: A Tribute to Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya’s Culinary Genius!

Cheese loaded nachos with Berry Mojito.

National Nachos Day is an annual celebration dedicated to the universally loved dish, nachos. The snack's history dates back to 1943 in Piedras Negras, Mexico, where Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya crafted “Nacho’s Especiales” from leftover ingredients. The dish quickly gained popularity and spread throughout the Southwestern U.S. Anaya's legacy is still honored in Piedras Negras, especially at the Moderno Restaurant. The dish evolved over time, with variations like the “ballpark nachos” introduced in Texas in 1976. National Nachos Day encourages enthusiasts to celebrate in various ways, from dining out to attending the International Nachos Festival in Piedras Negras.
