Lehigh Valley’s Own Stacy Gabel Unveils Heartfelt Christmas Tribute Today 🎤

In an artistic ode to the Lehigh Valley, recording artist and author Stacy Gabel just released a heartwarming original Christmas song and video titled "Merry Christmas My Friends.” This piece is more than just a song; it's a tribute to the Lehigh Valley, capturing the essence of the region's holiday spirit.

The song features young talents from Lehigh Valley choirs, including members of The Bel Canto Youth Chorus from the Bach Choir of Bethlehem. The video, filmed in the iconic Christmas City of Bethlehem and at the Lehigh Valley Zoo, is a visual celebration of the area's festive beauty. Stacy's talented production team, including Anthony Newett for music and Alan Sylvestre Media for the video, underscores her commitment to working with local resources.

This release is not just a musical project but a community event, with special screenings of the music video at the ROXY Theatre in Northampton, PA, starting November 24th, and at ArtsQuest’s Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas in Bethlehem, PA, beginning November 30th. These screenings offer a unique opportunity for everyone to come together and experience a local artist's heartfelt tribute to her home.

Local Young Talent Shines in State Theatre’s ‘Nutcracker Ballet’

The State Theatre in Easton, Pennsylvania, is gearing up for a special performance of "Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet" on November 25th. This modern take on the classic Christmas ballet, in its 31st year, is presented by Talmi Entertainment and features a blend of international and local talent. The show promises to be a unique rendition of the beloved ballet, bringing a fresh perspective to a traditional holiday favorite.

Local young dancers, ages 6-18 from the Pennsylvania Classic Ballet Academy, will take the stage alongside professional dancers from around the world. These local ballerinas, selected through auditions in October, have been rigorously preparing for their roles in the ballet. Their participation is facilitated by Talmi Entertainment's "Dance With Us" program, which aims to involve community members in the production, offering them roles such as party children, mice, snowflakes, and snow-maidens.

Nitschmann Middle School’s ‘Mr. Z’ Takes Center Stage at Macy’s Parade

Daniel Zettlemoyer, a music teacher from Bethlehem’s Nitschmann Middle School, performed in the Macy's 97th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, fulfilling a dream that began in his childhood. As part of The Band Directors Marching Band, he played the sousaphone in the nationally televised performance. Zettlemoyer's love for music and parades was nurtured in Bethlehem, and he has spent nearly 16 years inspiring middle school students with his passion and innovative teaching methods.

Exploring Possibilities: Bethlehem to Study New Community Center’s Feasibility

Bethlehem City Council has approved funding for a feasibility study to explore the establishment of a new community center in South Bethlehem. This study will evaluate community needs, potential sites, and financial aspects. The project, estimated to cost $20-25 million, seeks to fill a void left by the closure of local community spaces. While there's support for this initiative, concerns have been raised about the allocation of funds and the need for fiscal responsibility. The study is seen as a crucial step in making an informed decision about this significant community investment.
