Pennsylvania’s Deer Hunting Season Opened: A Tradition of Anticipation & Regulation
The much-anticipated firearms deer hunting season in Pennsylvania begins on November 25, continuing a rich tradition with an estimated 650,000 hunters participating. The season, which runs until December 9, allows hunters to take one legal antlered buck and additional antlerless deer per valid tag. The Lehigh Valley region shows promising signs for a successful season, with changes in deer movement patterns and an increase in hunting activity. New regulations have been introduced for deer processing in Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) areas, and expanded hunting opportunities are available in specific units to control CWD spread.
