Authentic Mediterranean Flavors Arrive in Downtown Bethlehem

The Fogelsville-based, family-owned Mediterranean Cafe & Grill has expanded to a second location at 22 W. Broad St in downtown Bethlehem. The restaurant, known for its homemade Mediterranean cuisine, will continue to offer popular dishes like falafel, kebabs and shawarma, along with new menu items. The Bethlehem location will feature a fresh, made-to-order menu based on family recipes, in a space that can accommodate around 70 guests.

Festive Fling: Bethlehem’s Tree Toss Tradition Benefits Local Charity

The Peter Kearns Memorial Christmas Tree Toss in Bethlehem saw its biggest turnout in years, raising almost $2,300 for Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley. Participants, including local police officers, engaged in a friendly competition to see who could throw a Christmas tree the farthest, with the top throw reaching over 28 feet. The event, founded by the late Peter Kearns, continues to be a beloved part of Bethlehem's holiday traditions, combining fun with charitable giving.

PA Launches Student-Created Mental Health Hotline for Holiday Support

Pennsylvania's new automated phone line, created with student participation, provides mental health support during the holidays. By calling (717) 772-4737, individuals can listen to messages of encouragement, jokes, and advice recorded by students. The hotline addresses the increased mental health challenges during the holiday season, with a focus on providing a quick emotional boost and information on accessing further crisis support.
