Floods Lead to School Closures & Rescues in Lehigh Valley 🌧

The Lehigh Valley is facing severe flooding after a record-breaking rainfall, with over 4 inches of rain causing creeks and rivers to overflow. The flooding has resulted in numerous road closures, water rescues, and early school dismissals. The situation is being closely monitored, with expectations of the Delaware River cresting above flood stage by Tuesday evening. The weather forecast indicates a dry period following Tuesday morning's slight chance of rain.

Tragic Collision in Bethlehem Claims Life of Easton Woman 🚑

Nora Coronado, a 62-year-old woman from Easton, died after a two-vehicle collision in Bethlehem on Sunday. The crash occurred at the intersection of Eaton and Pennsylvania avenues, with Coronado being a front-seat passenger. She and two others were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, where Coronado later died. The other two individuals remain hospitalized with serious injuries. An autopsy is scheduled, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office is assisting in the investigation.

Bethlehem’s Food Desert to Bloom with Co-Op Market’s 2024 Launch 🌱

The Bethlehem Food Co-op, soon to be known as the Bethlehem Co-Op Market, is preparing for its 2024 opening at 250 E. Broad Street with a new name and ongoing developments. The co-op is hiring a marketing coordinator and finalizing contractor selections for its store space. Funded by a HUD grant and other financial instruments, the co-op will offer fresh, healthy food options in a food desert area and engage in community-oriented initiatives.
