Navigating the Freeze: Lehigh Valley and NW Jersey Face Icy Morning Commute ❄️🚗 

The Lehigh Valley and parts of northwest New Jersey are under a winter weather advisory due to expected light freezing rain, creating hazardous road conditions from Tuesday evening through the Wednesday morning commute. The National Weather Service warns of a thin ice coating, especially in northwestern New Jersey, while the Lehigh Valley International Airport anticipates a mix of rain and freezing conditions. Temperatures are set to rise to around 41 degrees by Wednesday afternoon, with more rain expected in the evening, transitioning the region from icy to wet conditions.

Investing in Education: Bethlehem Area School District Secures Additional $1M in State Funding 📘💼

The Bethlehem Area School District has been granted an extra $1 million from the state's Ready to Learn Block Grant, bringing its total to $2,797,733 for the 2023-24 school year. This funding is designated for a range of educational enhancements, from social and health services to professional development for educators. State Sen. Lisa Boscola emphasized the critical nature of this funding in compensating for the shortfall in Level Up funding, while BASD Superintendent Jack Silva lauded the allocation for its significant contribution to the district's educational resources and its alleviation of the financial strain on local taxpayers.
