Sustainable, Stylish, and Socially Conscious: The 330 Thrift's Impact in Bethlehem 👚🌎

Nestled in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, The 330 Thrift, a women-owned resale boutique, is transforming the thrift shopping experience. Founded in October 2022 by Michele Jurkowski, the store quickly outgrew its original 200 square foot location, moving to a larger space at 421 W Broad Street. Michele's vision was to create a welcoming space offering affordable fashion without the typical thrift store feel, inspired by her own experiences growing up.

The 330 Thrift distinguishes itself with its commitment to quality and sustainability. Every item, from clothing to accessories, is meticulously prepared for sale, ensuring customers enjoy a high-quality shopping experience at thrift store prices. Unsold items are donated to charity organizations, including The Brown Bins, aligning with the store's eco-friendly ethos.

Beyond its retail operations, The 330 Thrift is deeply involved in the community. Plans to sponsor a work program for individuals with disabilities and the store's personal styling services demonstrate its commitment to inclusivity and personal touch. In less than a year, The 330 Thrift has become more than a store; it's a community hub where sustainable fashion meets social responsibility. Please support The 330 Thrift!

Share Your Vision: Bethlehem's Community Center Project Seeks Input 🏢🌟

Bethlehem officials are inviting residents to share their visions for the new South Side community center through video submissions and a community caucus on March 13. This initiative, supported by American Rescue Plan funds, aims to create a space for sports, gatherings, and health services. The project responds to the closure of other community facilities and emphasizes the importance of community input in its development. The deadline for video submissions is March 17, with tablet kiosks available at local libraries for those without internet access.

Bethlehem Welcomes Miller-Keystone Blood Center's New Satellite Office 🩸🏥

The Miller-Keystone Blood Center has opened a new satellite donation center in Southside Bethlehem, located at BSI Corporate Benefits on Webster Street. This new site, open once a month, aims to facilitate blood donations in response to the critical national blood shortage. The center's opening is timely, as Miller-Keystone adjusts to no longer being the primary blood supplier for Lehigh Valley Health Network. The Bethlehem location, part of an effort to increase donor participation, will operate from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second Friday of each month, providing a much-needed resource for local hospitals and the community.

Sarah's Smile: Seeking a Fur-ever Home for a Joyful Hound ❤️🐾

Meet Sarah, a 5-year-old, 52 lb hound mix with a perpetual smile and a heart full of love! Rescued by PK after her previous owner could no longer care for her, Sarah's joyous spirit remains unshaken. She's a dream on a leash, house trained, and responds eagerly to commands, especially when treats are involved. While she enjoys her meals a bit too much, she's ready for an owner who'll help her stay healthy. Sarah prefers male dog companions and may need a home that understands her frequent bathroom needs due to an enlarged liver. Could you be the one to offer Sarah a fur-ever home, or know someone who could?

The Answer to “Did You Know” Trivia:

A) The first 911 emergency phone system started (1968).

On February 16, 1968, the first 911 emergency telephone system was inaugurated in Haleyville, Alabama. This system was established to provide a quick and easy way for the public to connect with emergency services like police, fire, and ambulance services. The introduction of 911 marked a significant advancement in public safety.

As for the other options:

  • B) The Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9, 1964, not February 16.

  • C) The first woman astronaut to go to space was Valentina Tereshkova in 1963, but this event did not occur on February 16.

  • D) While color TV was introduced in the early 1950s, it wasn't specifically introduced on February 16 of any year. The first national color broadcast (the 1954 Tournament of Roses Parade) occurred on January 1, 1954.
